I have just finished the website ‘Memories of St Marys Secondary School, Askeaton, Co Limerick.
This has been a 2 years on and off labour of love. It really is just a draft, with hopefully many more contributions to come👌
My mum, Nora Hawkes, an adopted Cappagh woman, came all the way from Louisburg, Co Mayo to take up her first proper teaching post in St Marys. It wasn’t quite what she expected, putting it mildly. Due, however, to post office 1/2 days and an ironic twist of fate she ended up taking over the school and that’s where the story began.
