The ruin of Ballingrane forge is near the old post office, on the Askeaton to Rathkeale road, before the railway crossing. It was built circa 1890. It was run by the Clancy Brothers who were uncles of Mrs Culloty, the postmistress. It closed as a forge in circa 1958.
